Did you enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday?

Our's was both relaxing and fun.  We planned a quiet dinner here at home and that's what we had.  Neither of us was too pleased with the turkey this year.  Every year we've had really moist and tasty turkeys but this year it was tasteless.  We won't buy that brand again.

Our son and his family came over later that evening.  My husband took advantage of the visit to take some holiday portraits of our grandchildren.  Aren't they adorable???  They were so good as we 'posed' them.

Friday was set aside to visit with parents as it was my mom's 75th birthday.  We went out to lunch and did a bit of shopping with them.  Because she's an ice cream connoisseur, we treated her to her first Dairy Queen ice-cream cake.  She really liked it!  A lot.

We also did our share of 'holiday shopping' - but not the Black Friday, midnight or 4 a.m. kind.  I confess for a moment we did consider it.  But thoughts of facing bumper-to-bumper traffic, raging crowds and lengthy lines kept us in our bed long after the stores opened.  Instead, we took our time and strolled through the cleared-out stores late Saturday afternoon, then stopped for Chinese food at our favorite restaurant.  Did you do any Black Friday shopping?  Get any bargains?

Yesterday was so restful.  We stayed in where it was cozy and warm and dry.

Overall it was a very good, restful, serene Thanksgiving holiday.

How was yours?

  1. Ours was okay. A little too rushed and crazy. I really wanted the day to be relaxing and enjoy myself but I don't think I really sat down all day. The picture is adorable!!!

  2. Hi Lois,
Awww.... I certainly understand that rushed and crazy feeling. Mom's tend to be the last one's to sit down on the holidays don't they? This was the first Thanksgiving I can remember where I was able to relax (until time for dishes and kitchen cleaning).
Hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas!!
