Been Busy Off-Line

A view outside our window this morning
G'morning!

How are things in your corner of the world?

It's a blustery morning here.  Thankfully we didn't (yet) get the snow they were predicting, but it sure is cold and blowing.

Taking advantage of this slow time of year, I've been busy off-line lately.  I'm beginning the process of de-cluttering our home.  We've lived here for sixteen years and we seem to have fallen into a pattern saving stuff because "... that might come in useful some day!"  Argh.  So, although not going all-out and getting rid of everything, I am sorting through some things we haven't gone through in a while and I'm finally tossing out stuff we don't use/want and won't use/want and haven't used/wanted.  Lol.

Also I've had some projects to accomplish for work (with one still pending for today).  And I spent a couple of days creating a newsletter for my sister's ministry.  I do that for her every month.

I suppose that since my time and creativity has been spent in other arenas - I just haven't felt creative enough to post here.  :(  And I feel guilty about that.

Do you go through seasons where you don't have time and don't know what to post on your blog?

Do you feel guilty - as if you're neglecting your page and your online friendships?

How do you handle that?

  2. I've been trying to declutter, too, but apparently so is everyone else I know, so the stuff in coming in as fast as it's going out;) I hope to break even at least.

I don't stress too much about the blog, I have no schedule or particular agenda, so I just kind of wait for something to strike me to post. But I do try to keep my visiting up:)

  3. Hi Soraya,
    If you go to:
    http://audio.esvbible.org/
You can create your own Bible Audio verse.
Then copy and paste the code into a Gadget for HTML and place it wherever you want it on your page.
I hope I was able to write that to where you can understand it. If not, just let me know and I'll try to make it more clear.
Sometimes you can change the size of the youtube videos but you have to be able to read HTML code and change the size there.
Have a GREAT day my friend!!

  4. Ma,
Thank you so much for sharing that you don't stress about it. I haven't stressed about it, but I do feel guilty. Being such a relational person, I really enjoy all of you online friends. And I miss keeping in touch on a daily basis.

I'm doing okay on the decluttering. It's those sentimental things that get in the way - lol. We have some aprons and bonnets that my grandmother made/wore, my grandfather's Bible, a fancy purse that belonged to my husband's mother... lots of sentimental family items that we'd like to pass down to our grandchildren. So I'm getting those all together in one place, labeling them and am going to get a large container to store them in. Plus, my father-in-law was a professional photographer and we've been sorting through photos of his. It's been very touching, but time-consuming. And add to that OUR stuff/junk - well... I've been busy! lol

I'll try to follow your suggestion and just keep up my visiting on the days when I don't feel led to post.

    Thanks and blessings!

  5. Well, as far as weather, here in Arizona it is a crisp morning with an expected high of 72 today! I dream of snow....

There are times when I simply feel I have nothing of any value to say! Then I go visit all the blogs on my "follower list" and make comments on their blogs. I try to rest in the Lord at that point, and realize that there is a reason I need to stay silent. Also, it is a good opportunity to pray and search the Word :-)

  6. Yes I struggle with this too. The last half of last year there was a couple times I did not post for like a month. When I did, not of nowhere something inspired me and I get on the computer and do a blog posting.

I need to be doing some of that de-cluttering my self.

    Blessings,
    Ken

  8. Yes, Deb! I have struggled with blogging lately.
Seems my mine goes blank. I finally just went with it this morning for a hodge podge post that I doubt most bloggers read or comment. I need to do more de-cluttering myself. Just don't have the energy. Blessings, friend.

    Blessings to you all!
