It's In There!!

Have you ever (like me) tried to discern God's will in a situation?  Sometimes I wish that God would speak directly to us and tell us what to do.

A number of years ago there was a commercial for Prego Spaghetti Sauce that (if you were around) you might remember.  The catchy slogan that I still remember today was "IT'S IN THERE!"  It was used to tell people that everything good about authentic Italian spaghetti sauce is already in the jar.  All people had to do was open the jar to find that it's in there.

You know, so often we tend to do things the hard way.  We strive and pray about and theorize and over-think this Christianity stuff.  When we don't know which way to turn or what God might want us to do, many times if we'll simply open the Book, we'll find that it's in there!

Whenever I try to discern God's will for any given situation in my life;  whenever I am struggling and not sure where to turn;  whenever I'm hurting or feeling weak or alone or discouraged;  whatever my need - I find ALL the answer is in God's Word.

If you haven't yet, make it a point to attempt to read through God's Word this year.  I've done it a number of times and I tell ya.... there's nothing more strengthening than to daily fill your spirit and your mind with God's Word.  Reading it aloud in your home (or office) cleanses and fills the area with the beautiful and powerful presence of God.  And this coming year when you're faced with times where you might be required to give an account of what you believe - you'll be surprised how God's Word flows from your spirit to your mind and out of your mouth (even for those of us who aren't great at memorizing anything!).

If you'd like a plan to help you stay on track - it's not too late to find one.  The one I'm following this year (CLICK HERE to check it out) is sent straight to my inbox so that I can read online!  Can't get any easier than that.

Remember... when it comes to discerning God's will, IT'S IN THERE!
